Were getting quite a few of soldiers comeing back home from afghanistan draped in the flag --They've had some fierce fighting lately. Its quite a sacrifice --nobodys ever quite the same after they've been in battle

I hate all wars--wish there was a magic wand could be waved and do away with greed--that seems to be the root of most evil..

I know what you mean Carlos, there have been a few British boys coming home that way as well, only yesterday a Brit was bombed, leaving a wife and two children behind. My friends cousin was killed last week he was only 17 years old, so sad. I just wish these Wars could be over.

You would have died from a heart attack after the casualty report from D-Day. It is amazing how todays generation lacks the cojones of the WW2 generation. Why aren't you screaming about the murder rate in Chicago? Since the beginning of the Iraq war over 4,000 people have been murdered in Chicago alone and Chicago isn't considered a war zone. I was in Gulf War 1 and 2 and have seen first hand the good we have done there as well as the atrocities commited by Sadams cronies. In my opinion the thing we have not done a very good job with is using enough force to totally demoralize and break down the Iraqs ability to do anything but say "yes sir". See Japan 1945.

Indeed they are not the same. But freedom is not a given. It has to be earned, fought for, blood shed for.
