Man I am bummed out bigtime. Normally i would be getting ready for my Candian fishing trip... I havent been in the States for the 4th of July in 24 years...but with the economy and my slumping biz...I just wasnt gonna turn loose with the money...but I think I have made a terrible mistake :bang: :bang: :bang:

I used to go to Sask in Sept. That was great. Mostly good weather and NO bugs. I really like that country around Lake Laronge.

Where were you fishing Cutter

Fishing lately in the upper Northeast side of manitoba.....and yes those candian national birds got intense....and this is coming from a fella raised in the coastal swamps of Texas....I have always got a chuckle out of people saying here....I hope it gets real cold to kill the sqitters......trust I think that cold only make those things stronger and more pissed off.

Crack me up! I'm thinking you may be right.

Sorry about you missing your trip to Canada, I too spend some time up that way evey year and just love it and the people. In fact, I rarely summer fish in Minnysooooda because I've been so spoiled by my Ontario trips.

Too bad to hear that Cutter. The fishing lodges up here are hurting something fierce with the number of people who have cancelled their trips this year, both individuals and businesses. They are calling it the year of reckoning for a lot of the camps up here. Staff hiring was cut way down, like in half.

A lot of the problems stem from our DUI policy at the border, which we are lobbying hard to get removed.

Sounds like how good the gun policy was for business! I heard that the day it passed thousands of shotguns fell out of the boat at the same time.

Not so much. But everyone got real quiet about their 'collections'. It's just a general understanding in the sticks that you have guns, they are not registered and if anyone you don't know asks, you say you don't have guns.

The only ones that bought into that BS were the ones in towns and cities that don't need them/do anything with them (grandfathered guns).

But no worries, our new government will kill that law in the near future and leave the farmers and hunters alone. :cowboy:

Kingfisher I will keep that in mind....we are usually always looking for another person to go. If memory serves me its 8 tanks of gas from Houston to Winnipeg and back
