I was trying to put up some oats straw before a rain. Tried a couple spots in two fields and gave up. These straw bales tested 18 to 26% moisture which is way too high for good hay. Retested a couple of the straw bales a week later. They were not heating and now measured 14 to 19% moisture. Should I have kept baling?
