calving

I'm new to raising cattle,I have 5 heifers that should calf any time.this morning one of my heifers has a string of discharge hanging out of her vagina,it's only about 6 inches long,white (cream) in color.Is she getting ready to calf? Any info will be helpful. Thank You

What you are seeing is a mucous plug. About all that it means to me is that she has passed the mucous plug. She should calve but when IMO remains a question.

Heifers don't always follow the rules. lol. Usually about a week when you see the plug.
