Spring calving started out great today on the Spring Flood Ranch. Of course tommorrow the rain, then the sleet, Then? Cold Till Fri. Makes for alot more work for dad.

You are going to be like the rest of us and get by with very little sleep. We have had calves born on ice and sticking to it the minute they land. They aren't able to get up and someone has to be there immediately or they go down hill fast.

I'm with you. Snow here with -30 C temperatures (with windchill) Trying to keep ears from freezing off and have the heifers calving right now. Makes for some long days. Wednesday we are supposed to warm up, high of -2 low of -20. We all just have to survive until then...
