I vac'ed and wormed 37 days ago and can't remember how long before calves and cows can be sold at the sale. Has it been long enough?

If the literature doesn;t specify a with holding time you should be ok. I would insure that the salebarn is aware of the vaccinations and when.

I don't know that it is a requirement, but, most of the beef quality people want you to use the VAC 45 (45 days) program.

i think the difference here is how long before they can be sold vs. slaughtered.
for sale there isn't any waiting periods.
for slaughter you need to referr to the specific label of the product you treated with.
for instance Eprinex dewormer has 0 day slaughter withdrawl
while Cydectin has a 21-day withdrawl.
certain vaccinations have withdrawls as well again read the label

now the VAC45 program is something else VAC means vaccinated and the 45 means they are pre-conditioned or backgrounded for 45 days.

To add onto what Diehard said - you need to check the lable. If you threw it away, do an internet search for it or go to where you bought it and look it up.

Good managment practices dictate that you would wait to sell until after the withdrawal b/c you don't know who is going to buy that calf. It may be some couple who plans to slaughter the calf immediately. but, you are not required to wait to sell.

Just curious - why would you vaccinate so close to wanting to sell unless you are participating in VAC 45 or some other preconditioning program?

I called back where I bought it and it's ivermec plus with a 49 day waiting period for slaughter. Oh well, I guess some'll go now and some later.
