Calves Feeding

[Thompson cattle]

I want some different opinions on rations to feeding calves 250 to 300 pounders.
Right now I'm feeding
Crack corn
12% pellet
Molasses
I'm get this feed from the locate feed mill. I dont know what the protein is without asking.
I feel like these calves are not put the weight on. I was thinking about growing some fodder to help. I just want some other opinions

You protein isn't high enough. Calves that small need at least 16%.

Kenny is right, your feed is too low in protein to get a decent gain on a young growing calf. You could top dress it with a lb. of cottonseed meal or soybean meal and get it up to where it needs to be.

I have a buddy that buys a bunch of calves that size from the sale barn and he has a custom 19% feed made for him.
