Wanted to share some more pictures but I wasn't sure where to put them.

3/4 Angus 1/4 pinzgauer heifer calf born 1/14/14

same calf closer

Angus heifer born 2/15/14

Angus X (possibly) Shorthorn heifer born 3/8/14

Angus x Charolais bull calf born 3/10/14

1/3 Angus 1/3 Charolais 1/3 Pinzgauer steer born 3/21/14

Angus heifers born 4/29/14 and 5/14/14

This is the heifer born on 4/29/14 (standing behind the February born heifer calf) with her mom this is her first calf

My daughter has one that looks just like your skunky one....she's a longhorn/angus...

Cowgirl8,
Thanks, I really enjoy watching them grow. I know that people think the markings on the pinz calves look the same as longhorn however, the calf is about as big/tall as the two grown longhorns owned by the guy we half lease this pasture with.
Picture of him and char x calf standing near longhorn

Thanks branguscowgirl. I defiantly don't have trouble finding our cows in the herd and most of the calves. I do have one black angus bull calf that was born around the same time as the guy I half lease this pasture with had one born so it is hard to tell those apart so I haven't posted a picture of him.

I doubt that is a longhorn more than likely a piney woods cow.

Without papers there is no way of knowing...
This calf is 1/4 longhorn, 1/4 ? , 1/2 angus, ......Daughter was given bottle calf from sale barn, then bred her to our LBW angus to produce this heifer. These white markings are hard to wash out. This calf may eventually produce a solid black. Then on down the line that solid black will throw a skunk tail out of the blue..or all her calves may be skunky..

Hurleyjd,
I was posting the picture to show the difference between a longhorn and the pinz and pinz cross calves. Look at the picture cowgirl8 posted and then look at the one I posted of the pinz x calf it shows the difference I was trying to show. I do not know how old her calf is but the one I posted was born in March.

Decided to post another pic of the angus x char x pinz calf

Yes....head is always up

This is the youngest calf I have. She was born 5/19/14 and is 1/3 angus 1/3charolais and 1/3 Pinzgauer. She was a twin, the other one did not live (was born dead). She was small but has grown well.

Using this calf's mother and the full Pinzgauer cow to keep my bull company while the other cows are on the leased pasture.

The heifer I purchased is turned out in a larger pasture with a weaned bottle raised calf that belongs to my neighbor. They are coming to feed very good now.
