On flat smooth fields it might be enough just have to gear down. I would prefer alittle more power.

You'll be fine with 55 HP even if you do Haylage you will have enough HP. We have hundreds of customers pulling them with less HP. Pull the throttle back and bale hay. You can just do more with a Vermeer baler with a smaller tractor, using less fuel, all gears faster that those off colored balers. After all this is what you would expect from the leader in round baler technology.

We pull a 5x4 JD baler on steep ground with a 2350 with no problems, Just makes the black smoke on steep hills when loaded. Very good tractor if you can keep a clutch in it.
