i have a calf about a month old that i noticed walking around with his tongue stuck out to the side. well, after a day or so it was a little more obvious and a little blood in his salava. so i caught him up and the bottom of his tongue was really infected looking. all chalky looking. gave him some penicillin for a few days and it has really cleared up a lot, but has left a cavity in the bottom of his tongue about 1" by 1-1/2". and it is kind of deep in a place or 2.

it is not on the end of his tongue, but back a pretty good bit.. at least 2-3" back. i have to put my hand in his mouth and lift his tongue to see it.

anyone have any ideas on this or ever seen such?

thanks

my calf has pretty much the same thing at the moment, but he has diphtheria so we are treating him 1 ml of penicillin per kilo of bodyweight

I.e: for 50 kilos i would give 5 mls of penicillin
