Does anyone know if anyone makes digital calf scales? Dad can't read the old ones and I'm tired of having to go out and read them for him.

We have a Paul scale that has a coversion kit to go from the old time balance weight to the digital scale.
Go check out the maker of your scale and see if they have the rails and box to convert yours to digital.
Also check out ranch supply stores they might be able to get you the rails and box too.

Check out the AmerWeigh TL series - we'll be trying one out this year as we hate the old scales. It's a little more scale than you need but it looks like a solid unit.

If you already have a digital scale for you big animals you could use it. That is what I use anyways. We move the weighbars into our barn for calving and put a piece of plywood on them and it takes about 3 seconds to weigh a calf.
How much are those scales? Thanks in advance.

Tired of having to go out and read the scales for the man who raised you, taught you how to be a man, probably helped you get into whatever it is you're doing today? My, my, haven't you just become the busy, important businessman! I'm never to busy to help my Dad, and I never will be. Maybe you need to give a little thought to changing your paradigm.

I was being a little sarcastic. I don't mind doing it, but it's hard run to the parents house every day when I live so far away. Plus he's not that old, he's not even 50 yet, he just never takes his reading glasses out with him. So I was going to try and make his and my life easier.

My dad passed away unexpectedly back in March. The worst feeling I have when I think of him, is I never got a chance to repay him for all that he had done for me.

I really couldn't tell you. I just knew this company had some that might work. You'd have to call the company.

Thanks for your reply. I found some last month but they were for small animals like goats and pigs. Plus it was old and did not work. I was thinking some sort of mobile digital scale would work in my neck of the wooods...... thanks again for your reply and if i figure out
how to get a scale for cheap ill let you know. :) Peace.

I can understand the issues with distance, as well as the frustration factor. Maybe his not taking his reading glasses with him is his way of getting a little more time with you? Parents are funny creatures, and they usually have their own agenda!
