calf puller

Howdy, I am new to this board.
We are raising Beefalo and having our first calves.

I've been told there is a new kind of calf puller based on the same design as the chinese finger trap?
Has anyone heard of this devise and know where to buy it please?

We have the ratchet style one and it works good. Some guys on here have the cable come along ones.

Sounds sensible . Push it in over anything you can and the fingers dig in when pulled out .
Should be able to rip a few feet off with that !

I saw something similar a copule of years ago. The biggest problem I saw with it was the difficulty in repositioning it if needed, you also needed a pretty fair length of leg since the thing was about 6-8 inches long when it was tightened.
A hunk of large woven poly rope can also work. If you push it short it will open up on the inside and form the trap you're talking about. I've never seen it larger then about an inch in diameter though.
