What is the best thing to spray on this stuff. In a couple of seven acre tracts I was able to dig, but on my 25 acre place their are way to many to dig.

Take a pitch fork with you.

Mix up Tordon mix as recommended by Brush Busters. (http://texnat.tamu.edu/BrushBusters/index.htm)

Poke the plant and immediately spray. We wiped out 99% of our catus one year doing that.

Whatever you do - DO NOT shred it.

If it is as thick as theives, bulldoze it into a pile and burn. Treat regrowth with the Tordon mix.

I've also had good results with a 2% mixture of Grazon P+D and spot spraying while the plants were in bloom. It will take a long time to see results and you will probably need a clean up spraying next year.

i dont know somebody on here told me to spray prickly pear with roundup to kill it and i did last year and the stuff has exploded. so i dont recommend that.

Last year sprayed prickly pear with 2oz Tordon + 2 oz MSMA + 2oz surfactant per gallon of water. Cactus is graveyard dead.
