CAB or NO CAB

I plan to use the tractor year around. I will use it about 10 or so hours a week, 500 hours or so per year.

Why would I want to pay $7,000 more for a cab???

It is hard, or impossible, to find a 100 HP without a cab on the lot.

the cab has its good points.1.you wont have to freeze doing chores in winter.2.if you hit ground bees you wont get stung.3.you wont have to eat dust an dirt baling hay.now for cab falts.1.you cant go in the woods or under low hanging trees.2.you cant hear when something is wrong with equipment.3.they are hard to see behind you unless you have mirrors mounted so you can see behind you.

dont forget the wont get soaked when u have to feed hay in the rain. we went from no cabs to all cabs over the years and now for the most part we dont know what we would do with out them . we still have one 4020 with just a canopy but its used more for building fence and such

Cabs are kind to human skin, but not kind to their wallet or clock when something happens that requires the removal of the cab, but if I lived in snow country, I'd dang sure consider one. A/c? Not a selling point for me.

The main reason I bought a cab was to keep the chemical off of me and out of my lungs when spraying. The AC was a close second. I don't mind getting out and doing something when it is 105 degrees when before I would make a excuse not to. You will also recover some of the cost upon resale.

With a cab you can also lilsten to the radio without wearing ear plugs. My radio has the weather radio deal built in. Getting storm/tornado warnings in time to get under cover is kind of comforting

I bought a cab tractor two years ago. I will never, ever be without one again. Being in Arkansas you will be glad you have it. Get the cab!

You must have bought the expensive transparent glass option. With mine people can see me but I can't see them. :lol:

Cab, hands down.
I can bale hay on a 100 degree day and not feel nasty and fatigued at the end of the day. Working AC in a glass cab is a must in the south.
I do not cough up all the hay dust for a couple of days now.
I do not have to bundle up in layers to feed in the winter.
The only time I get rained on is when I am opening gates.
Sound decibels are much better.
Controls and the seat are always dry.

I plant 2700 acres of soybeans,corn,wheat always use cab tractors for anything to do with those crops and used my cabless tractors for everything else. I tell you what let a clutch mess up in a cab tractor you will have a serious bill trust me on that one.

We always keep a bottle of Windex and a roll of paper towels in the tractor. That way you can clean the back glass real quick when you're baling hay or etc.
