Buying Branded Cattle in TX

What do I need from seller/brand owner if I were to buy cattle that physically branded in TX? Is there some type of paperwork or anything I should get w the purchase?

You might get the seller to give you a simple bill of sale with a short description of the brand and it's location on the cow with certification that it is his "registered" brand.

Around here all livestock being transported have to have a manifest filled out before they leave the property, it has the owner signature, description of brand, where they were loaded, vehicle license plate, trucker name, destination, and the time and date, in 4 copies.. One for the owner, 1 for the brand inspector (if applicable), one for the trucker, and one for the recipient.
