Burning Sarcoids

I have a 12 yr old mare that has some rather large sarcoids just below her ear. The vet says that he has had luck freezing them , and they don't come back, but he wants to try hot burning them off. Has anyone tried this, and if so, what were the results. The hot iron is a lot cheeper, but if it does'nt work, then what the heck????
By the way they are benine(SP).

Had one taken off a colt's pastern with electrocautery (heat). 20 years ago. He never had a recurrence.
