It was bound to happen. I'm a little burnt out on posting. The LaVoy Finnicum thread, and my dog bite thread (let's let that sleeping dog lay) have been the only things in recent history, that have held my attention. I probably don't open 1 out of 20 or 30 threads. I used to see an old thread come up, and it would have some user name, with a high count that I had never heard of. I'd wonder how could somebody like that just disappear? It makes sense to me now. At some point you've seen it all atleast once. It starts to get redundant. Maybe my attitude will improve...........Maybe some more exciting threads will show up.
 
Yep, I know the feeling... a couple weeks ago I went through my posts starting with the oldest ones (my first ones) and there was a staggering number of people who had over 1000 posts I really could hardly remember.

I usually don't comment or read any thread that's grown to 4 pages in a hurry.. I just know people can't think that fast and it'll be emotional!
 
I have a user name there, and I can't even remember what it is. Bigfoot was taken. I could never get in the swing of it though.

Same deal with me. I used to read every single post, now I don;t read a third of them. Some posts if I see a couple of particular names I just skip over the whole thread.
 
Most of it is row crop. I haven't raised anything but cattle in I think 12 years.

I read a few peoples out of morbid curiosity.

Even that has losts it pleasure for me. I ignore so many of them I'm starting to subscribe to the dictum that "ignorance is bliss"
 
I stopped posting sometime last year .. post here and there now.. I usually only open threads when I can tell what they topic is by the title.. I usually stay away from the breeds board.

Not surprised that an experienced cattleman would become bored. You are not here to learn to husband cattle. You know that already. CT is a Christian Conservative culture. The users that regularly post rarely bring fresh ideas. It has to get stale. Anyone who enters these doors with values that don't match the mainstream are not going to last long. Therefore, they depart and it goes back to the same rhetoric. But in the end, even the staunchest members of the old gang are going to get bored. You can only repeat the same rhetoric so many times until the most avid adherent to those ideas and values get bored with it. If you are an honest Christian, you know of what I say. It is easy to sit in a group who shares your ideas and values and slap each other on the back in agreement. But there is nothing refreshing in that.
 
The question I have is, when a thread gets deleted do you your deleted posts get deducted from your aggregate total or do they still count?

That has really been bothering me.

I've always wondered where the deleted threads go?
Is there some kind of deleted thread forum?
 
I quite a few of the older posters that happen to be old themselves retired. And once they retired from their real jobs they don't have the time to come here very often. Its hard to believe how you stay so busy doing nothing. I miss the ladies mostly.
Anyone talk to Hoss?
