We raise Limousin cattle and are wanting to cross some to get some more pounds. I would really like to get a Maine Anjoy bull and raise some show steers to sale. What do you all think? Is there enough interest in show steers?

Maine do make good show steers as well as good crosses for show steers. A lot of people cross them with Chis. Here's a link to some of the Maine bulls listed with Semex, which is a good place to start looking for some good quality, showy bulls. http://beef.semexusa.com/Maine%20Anjou/

There is plenty of market potential for Show Steers. The marketing is the tough part. You will have plenty of competition from many Club Calf Breeders.
http://www.topsires.com is a better site to look for Maine-Anjou AI Bulls. It sounds more like you are wanting to purchase a bull. I would advise a high percentage, black, 3/4 or Fullblood. You can find breeders at http://www.maine-anjou.org

If you're wanting to raise competitive Maine or Maine cross calves, I'd suggest that you look a little into the A.I. avenue. You have a much wider gene pool to pull from and you can buy semen from top bulls for $20 to $50.
