Has anyone used Hereford bulls from Wiese & Sons in Iowa? IF you have, how were the offspring? How were the bull(s)? etc.

Spent a Febuary day there back in the '70s. Got the $5 tour from Sam Wiese. Was really impressed with their operation and the consistancy and quality of their cattle especially with the large numbers they stocked. They are one of those rare purebred cattle breeders that have been very successful for a very long time (probably 4th or 5th generation by now) without much showring exposure. The have done it by producing top quality cattle that perform for the commerical cattle rancher, and personally have impeccable character and an outstanding reputation. The person I was with bought 2 bulls (King Ten sons I think) and used them for 5 or 6 years on some angus and hereford cows. They really put some pounds on his weaning weights, and produced a lot of outstanding cows. The majority of his cow herd today trace back to those 2 bulls.

We AIed heifers to a Weise bull out of King Ten. Only bred 5 head and got 3 calves, but so far I really like them. Cousin has some WS cattle at his place and they all look very good.
