you have to wait till they are about 6 months old before you can really tell.a keeper bull vs a steer at birth is very hard todo.you develop an eye for quality bull calves.an get to where you can tell at 3 months.but you have to learn what qualities to look for in a herd bull prospect.an cull the bull calves hard.only keeping the very best of the bulls.
