we have a milkshorthorn heifer pictures in other links she is bull head wants to do everything her way, and ideas of taming her i put umm forget the name you put it in the nose like pliers when they pull away it tightens doesnt seem to help her shouldi just tie her up until she calm down?

i would say the best thing to do is tie her high for about 30 to 45 min. a day and STAY WITH HER if you don't not only is it dangerous but she's not getting used to you. she will pull and go crazy at first but after a cuople of days she will be relaxed but not broke. once you get to about the 3 or 4 day mark brush her while she's tied up let her know that your not going to hurt her. After about a week of that she should be good but she still will be stubborn to walk most likely but she should be a little easier to handle

I believe you're referring to nose tongs. Have you raised kids, broke horses or trained dogs? The same concepts apply here - work with your heifer, don't try to force her because: 1) There is no "one-size fits all" when it comes to training animals, and 2) You will always lose - she has superior size, superior weight, and superior strength. Pay attention to her behaviour, listen to what she is telling you through that behaviour, and you will be well on your way to getting her where you want her to be. The bottom line of training any animal is that you have to understand them first - no two are alike. Just my .02 cents worth.
