Built a portable gantry crane

Built this for hanging pigs deer or beef but plan to eventually weld it and strengthen it for heavier applications. I found some scrapsand put this together.

I would definitely put gussets from the vertical beam to the horizontal beams both on top and at the bottom or I would say there is a high possibility it will rack on you.

I'm not putting anything on it now but halves of hogs I will put braces and gussets soon as I decide if it will be used for more than 800#

Are you going to put some wheels on it as I was looking at HFs. That sure would come in handy for many jobs.

Eventually yes when fixing people's snow plows or whatever the lift would help alot
