I was just looking back at the deer I have seen this year. I have identified 34 different bucks. I only have one game camera set up on our 800 acre ranch, but I have seen a few of these bucks while I have been pig hunting.
From what I can tell this buck has 12 tines including a sticker on his left antler.

A nice 8 point.

A big 10 point.

Another big 10 point. Our neighbors shot him in late November.

A wide 7 pointer with short tines.

These are some of the biggest deer I have seen in the past year. I can't wait to see how they turn out when October comes around.

I have been in the deer blind the last couple of nights. Loads of does. Last week I saw 25 does in an evening, mostly groups of 3 and 1 group of 10. Two days ago, I was driving through a pasture and saw a group of 23 does!
I read in a Noble Foundation publication that you were supposed to have a ratio of 1 buck for every 2 does. We are no where near that ratio.

and you won't until you start shooting some does.

Go on and leave those does alone. You'll soon be rid of that big buck problem. That's what everyone here has done. No one wants to fool with a doe even though its the best to eat.
I don't like deer or deer hunting (or a lot of deer hunters) but I'm fixing to have to get the nuisance tags and start shooting everything I see.

We are planning to get an MLD Permit by the time the next deer season rolls around in an effort to reduce the doe numbers.

Here in GA. the DNR is playing politics with our deer herd. This year does were closed between Dec.1st. through the 25th. In some counties you can still shoot does and some you can't. DNR has screwed up and needs to be held accountable. We have taking a step back as far as I am concerned. DNR needs to manage the deer and not the people. I will be at the public meetings, and be ask to leave again.

here we can kill does everyday for the most by way of county regs or kill permits.
So the county sets the kill regs? Who do you buy doe tags from? How much are they?

let me rephrase that. The state sets forth the regs for each county and luckily a county I hunt in is either sex. My county I have kill permits issued by dept of game here.
