I've already been doing some shopping online and buying a few things here and there and stashing them away! Problem is, by the time I get to Christmas, I can't remember where I've stashed them or WHO I bought the item for when I do find it!!

LOL

another senior moment...... :? :???: :lol2:

BTW Peg, I like your new avatar! :tiphat:

The new avatar is something I wish I had-an Al-Tekel (spelling gone wrong) Sure beautiful horses, they shine like polished metal.

Oh Humbug, Christmas is not like it was years ago. To comercial, every thing is over priced. After Christmas most every thing goes on sale, and that just shows you how much you've been screwed. Christmas is for Children just like Halloween. Now Easter is the best of all and It's for everyone and I'ts free. Don't expect every one or any one to agree with me. Just thought I would express my feelings while this Republic for the People by the People still stands.
Tom.

It's only a month till Christmas!

Last I heard Christmas was the 25th.. ;-)

I think you all should get over thanksgiving first and the move on to Christmas.. :P

I have a friend that finished her xmas shopping in July....I think she is a kook.. :?

Kerly I agree, if I find something special that will be perfect for someone then I will buy it, if not they do not get a gift from me. I am the worst person to buy for ,I have been told many times and I know it . We used to exchange gifts as a family but I put the end to it last year. Now I buy only for my parents, mom gets her favorite bottle of perfume and dad gets a few novels by his favorite authors. Hubby and I buy for each other all year long when we need or want something. This year our gift to each other will be our new puppy and she went wayyyy over our budget .

My nieces and nephews will get money again as they are older now and are hard to buy for.

Already gave my son a toolbox, gonna make daughter a hat and scarf--Don't know what to get SIL,maby a Letherman tool.

You are allowed to spoil them, that is what a great uncle is for BB.. :D

no beefmaster cows for him yet
you might want to wait until he cuts his first teeth..

I have two of the original elmos, the very first edition, in mint condition. I was thinking of putting them on Ebay, I wonder what I could get for them.. :cowboy:

We do "white elephant" gifts among the adults and it's a hoot. One year my grandma boxed up all the "schtuff" that 5 kids left at her house when they had moved out years ago - and gave it back to them for Christmas. The uncles' motorcycle racing trophies; hideous out of style coats they left in the closets; high school yearbooks; you name it. Or, white elephants can be nice, like homemade jelly, jerky, baked goods, etc. But they are always the highlight of the Christmas gathering. I look forward to them more than the "real" gifts from the other side of the family.

his momma threw a fitt for a tickle me elmo when she was 11 or 12.so thats what she got for christmas.an thats why i got him 1.that sucker cost me $70.

My grandson has already been up in my lap with pictures of toy trains. He wants every set and every train.

My grandaughter is getting a kitchen set and who knows what else. Her little sis is only 14 months old so she hasn't figured it out yet.

It is VERY POSSIBLE that I get my fourth grandchild/second grandson for Christmas. She was due Jan 1 but it doesn't appear there is any way she will make it that long. Grandma says December 15th max. How do they know these things?

When Grandma ("Nana") gets loose with that checkbook, I know this Christmas is going to get expensive. What the heck, you can't take it with you.

With the economy the way it has been for the last few years, our family (brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc) gets together and does the dirty Santa thing now. We place a limit of no more than 5 bucks, and we all have a fantastic time together! It saves everyone from the high cost of buying everyone a gift, and we all still get together to have a good feast, and good times to share.

wanna explain???

LOL  :lol2:

Bought some stuff online to get started. I'm concentrating on making Christmas a good family time this year and not so much on stuff. I like online shopping. Hate crowds. Hate traffic... Sounds like a good way to catch flu.

We do the while elephant too! Big fun. I needed to clean out my "junk drawer" so I dumped it in a box and wrapped it up..... Sometimes there is that "one special" item that will make it back in the mix year after year.

Food and fun are what the Holidays are all about. Gifts, really not so much.

When we all get together we have a Secret Santa, no present over £5. This year my youngest Daughter will be spending all of Christmas Day with me first time in 13years. I got very synical and wanted to ask is Daddy and millionaire stepbrother going away, but thought no must not have wicked thoughts, as we are just getting back on track.
