I have a small brewpub that has offered me the grain from brewing the beer when they are done with it. I have heard this is good feed. My question is how do you store it. Right now they just throw it away in a dumpster. I took a look at it, however it is warm and damp/wet when they discard it. How long would it last before molding? Would it prevent mold if stored in airtight containers like barrels with a plastic seal on them?
Thanks in advance for your input.

I'm not sure about your question, but I just noticed you location and was wondering if by small brewpub, you were meaning Anheuser-Busch? They aren't too far down the road. I wonder how many tons of that stuff they go through in a day.

My question is I am concerned about the stuff molding faster than it's fed. Or does anyone have any experience with the stuff.

spoiling has alot todo with how meny cows your feeding.as for sorage.you can pile it on the ground or a concrete slab.we used to feed maltage at a rate of a 5 gal bucket pre cow pre day.scott

Brewers grains are an exellent feed, 22% protein 11.5 ME.
You will need to clamp and cover it if you are storing large quantities as it will get hot and mouldy very quickly. I wouldn't store more than I could feed in two weeks.
