At what age do you guy let your heifers get to before you put the with a bull. And is there a certain weight you like you heifers to get to before you breed them. :help:
I would change the "and" to an "or". If they haven't reached breedable weight by 15 months they need to be gone. Weight should always be the deciding factor on time of breeding. I've had many Holsteins reach my target weight for first breeding by 11 months of age.dun":3kxs81lo said:14-15 months and 65% of their expected mature weight
I also agree with the above and add that a pelvic score should be taken and equal no less than 160 square cm to help prevent calving problems. Vet can tell you if she's safe to breed. Ours charges $2 per head for this service...lots cheaper than a dead calf and/or heifer.novaman":2sswaxdy said:I would change the "and" to an "or".
