I have 5 registered brangus heifers 3 born Sept. 07 and 2 Dec. 07. So they should be ready to breed Dec 08 and March 09 respectively. I also have 4 other cows that should calve April 09 and be ready to breed in June. I would like them all to calve at least in the same season as close as possible, but I also don't want to hold the heifers open to long. So what would ya'll do breed the heifers in March when they would all be ready or hold them till June when they could all be bred at one time? I will be AIing and then putting a clean up bull on them. Any advice appreciated

I would breed the heifers a little after the time the others start to calve. Not ideal, but many people breed heifers to calve a short time before the main cow herd

you want to breed your heifers at 15 to 18 months old.an you may not be able to breed the cows an heifers at the sametime due to the age of the heifers.
