Can someone give me a rough idea of when my Beefmaster Bull will be old enough to breed. I plan on running him with my small herd of 5 cows in May which would put him at 15 mos. Thanks!

American breeds tend to mature a little later than the others. He might breed but we like to wait until they are 18 months.

If you are ready to breed with him turn him out. The only reason I would wait is if you want a timed pregnancy.

I turned my Beefmaster bull out with the girl's at 15 months, I have 7 heiffers and 6 of them are expecting in mid December. I believe the 8th was either scared, shy or saving herself for the right Bull. She doesn't know it but my other bull is an upright Maytag.
