Boy Scouts reconsidering allowing queers

Can you believe this shyt? A private organization is actually considering( again) caving to pressure to allow gays. I tell you what, the day they do, I'll send back my Eagle and OA badge and renounce the group. Very publicly.

Don't mean to sound like a liberal or something but my guess is those of you who have a gay relative see this differently!. I don't know if i am for it or not, but i don't like exclusionary things. They make me want to get mad and fight!

Is that what I said? The Boy Scouts of America was founded on a set of morals, ethics, and principles. Those principles do NOT include homosexuality. Those same parameters are what set the bsa aside from almost 99% of all other private groups. Period. End of story.
If the BSA allows this, it will be the end of the BSA.

Well I am with you 3way. There is a reason in public youth organizations that we have background checks and monitor adult volunteers on a regular basis, regardless if they are heterosexual or otherwise. Pedophiles and real wackos have been involved in Scouts over the years, so I can't see gays being any worse. If issues arise, let the police deal with them.

Do they allow those same gays to go camp out for up to a week with their kids? There are different kinds of corruption also. The mind is one of the easiest to corrupt. Especially at a young impressionable age. Just look at the kids coming out of college with the liberal professors. Good god fearing Christian kids go to college and come out being atheist.
When the founding principles of an orginzation are allowed to be bent 180 degrees to those principles by public pressure, its time to shut it down

I tried to shake up the "how old to butcher a steer" but too many folks started out pretty much the same as me. So that was out the window, thought about jumping in on the 11 p.m. Bean picker but that was very much a :deadhorse: . I still had a huge chunk of bait on the line and I saw your boy scout post. :lol: no offense meant and if it was someone else I may have kept them on the line longer.

C'mon Alan..I don't take it personal. I just feel strongly about this. I have alot of time invested in the BSA. to allow this would basically be telling all previous BSA members that the BSA motto was bullshyt

Anyone who lets their kids go camping with, basically, a complete stranger - be it straight or gay, is nuts. There has to be parental supervision.

We camped with adults scout leaders whom were also our church leaders. But I guaran-damn-tee you that if the leaders were also gay my parents would not have allowed me to be a scout. And I'd wager that millions of parents feel the same way today.

Boy scout leaders for the most part aren't strangers, plus there is alway a group of friends there also. Any who has spent a little time in the scouts know that the parents and leaders and other scouts all get to know each other through actives and meetings.

I also love my time in the scouts. On my first camping trip as a young scout the older scouts told all of to grab our flashlights at dusk. Then the young guys got gunny sacks, we were going snipe hunting!!!! Oh man I was excited, I got to be a catcher and they were going to drive them to me! Well the friend who got me evolved with scouting was a few years older and working on his eagle. He just took the sack from me and said it's pretty hard to drive them you can help me drive if we see one we have a sack! Well that was just as great I was a driver! It was even better in a couple minutes when he clued me into snipe hunting ..... Good memories.
