Bought two new bulls last Friday. A nice soft coated red eyed Hereford and an Ultravox grandson Angus sire. The sale was held about and hour and a half south of us. We have purchased 10 bulls from this man's herd all good doing Hereford sires. The Angus was the first that we purchased from the man's son. Both bulls will be used in our commercial herd. Next year the Angus will be used over our first calf South Devon heifers to breed Australis Beef Cattle (an Angus South Devon composite)
The sale reached a top of $9,000 for an average of just over 3 and a half thousand.Not a bad result for the drought conditions about our region. The bulls will be home in about a fortnight ready to go straight out with the cows.
