Bottle Calves

Does anybody try to raise bottle calves, years ago i bought some and did pretty good on them.I would like to find a source here in Arkansas where I could buy them off the farm.

I would think your only source of calves would be bull calves off a dairy.

Down in this area they often split up pairs because the cow is nothing more than a packer cow and you can pick up the calf. If it's a pretty good calf expect to pay a pretty good price for it even if it's only a few days old. it will take a while to accumulate any large number of them but it can be done. Check with "Backhoeboogie" here on the board. I know he buys calves this way and puts them on a nurse cow.
