another thread made me think about new pair of boots
i have ariat's now and they are ok
i've tried tony lama tlx and not my favorite but ok
i tried rocky's but they are not tall top (rattle snakes)
so i'm looking at the Ariat Mens Heritage Stockman Tall Boot-Scotch/Tawny
link http://www.ariatbootstore.com/product/34950
anybody tried these ?

You might like "buckaroo" boots by Ariat. I just got a pair of them from Cavenders, and they seem to be a good boot. I think they're 16" tall. The tops are made pretty big, so they really work better with the britches inside, rather than over them, but they'll work either way.

I usually get cheap boots from the Shoe Barn or somewhere like that. A couple of months ago I was sawing down a big field of seedling pine trees with a weedeater/skilsaw blade attachment and my brother saw me and said "get you some steel toed boots and send me the bill." So, I ordered some steel toed Chippewa lace ups online from Metboots I think it was. $120 or so. Dang nice!

Ariats are the worst pair of boots I have ever owned. Went from a pair of redwings to a pair of ariats last year. My old red wings were 4 years old when I made the switch...with all the holes from barb wire in them, I could not walk in wet grass any longer without getting my feet wet. I bought the Ariats b/c I needed a pair of boots for the weekend, and Red Wing was out of my size. After 3 months the side stitch broke, Ariat wont fix it, then the heel came off...less than 6 months old and they were in the trash.

Wont ever buy them crap boots again. Bought another pair of redwings. Youll pay $160 for em, but they will last years under heavy abuse.

wolverine, with durashock, buy a pair every year. from feeding cow, riding horses, work rest or play they are on every day :cowboy:

wolverine and double h both make fine boots. IMO wolverines seem to last a little longer. Look around on ebay. Last pair I bought were new in box from a western store going out of business that I got for $40.

I used to wear wolverines and I did buy a pair about every year. Some pairs would't last that long. I switched to ariats and they last forever. The soles don't wear out like wolverines. The last pair of ariats lasted 3 or 4 years. My feet started hurting so I bought another pair. I've had these about 6 months now. No problems. I wear boots almost everyday. Sneakers go on my feet maybe 3 weeks out of the year. Now these are work boots. Not cowboy boots.

I love, love ariat boots, and I've got one pair in particular I've been pretty rough on - including having to pull fencing staples back out of them.

Husband has some of everything - a pair of LaCrosse he's had for a while, a pair of John Deere work boots he got for Christmas that were PRICEY, but he likes them, and he's getting Ariats for Valentine's Day.

Converse composit toe lace up leather ANSI approved safety boots.

There are several pair of Lama's in the closet that haven't been worn in years. They feel good and look nice.

I hate boots mainly because so many are heavy and hard on the feet. 99% of the time I just wear Ariat Terrain Hiker Boots. Ankle height, great arch support, light as a feather and very comfortable. So far I haven't lost any toes or had a nail go thru the bottom. :dunce: I think they're only about $79.

stay clear of justin basics ropers, their like card board covered with a thin layer of synthetic leather

And they'll stretch out and let your foot wallows around inside them...very annoying. About 6 weeks in a pair cured me of Justins.

i've got a pair of justin ropers about 10 years old...every now and then I'll try to wear them...I forget how bad they are..they have the thinest soles ever sewed on a pair of boots...I need to throw them away..
