Anyone with info on this bulls daughters? specifically udder quality! How about his Dam, Ms 1st Flag. I heard in past her udder wasnt that good, Was just looking at a son coming up for sale that I like, and surley dont want to go backwards on udder quality

Haven't seen enough daughters in production to really be able to give an opinion on udder quality, but I have seen many Boomer bulls.

The boomer bulls typically are very well muscled in the hindquarters, could have had more depth of chest and I have seen too many with very small scrotums. Not to sure what to make of it when it comes the the correlation between scrotums and the udder quality of the daughters, but fearing for subfertile daughters i'd pay very close attention to the said bull's scrotum

He is liked very well by some and hated by others. Seen calves and daughters. Moderate to High BW, larger frame, lighter color, more white. I' don't think he will ruin an udder but he is not an udder improver. He does bring some hindquarter and hip into the mix. I Like his daddy, but I've never been interested in using 29F.

I've used him a few times, had a couple of daughters, udders were ok, I would agree with 1848, he's not a udder improver. I had one with about the same udder quality as her dam, the other one had the same good attachment has her mother, teats were larger, but held up pretty well. He has over 500 daughters in production, you're going find somebody with bad ones. I also want to say, breeders seem to put more blame or praise on bulls than's warranted, they are just 50% of the breeding. You need to spend as much [if not more] interest in the dams side of the bull calf you are interested in buying.
He is withing the top 25% the breed for calving ease, so calves normaly come easy for there size, and his milk epd [somewhere around +30] I would say is probably correct, his daughters milk good. TRM bought an interest in him not that long ago, long after he had o lot a daughters in production, I doubt they would have done that if they thought he consisantly produced daughters with bad udders.

Yes I did check out the maternal side for udders no problems there. My feelings were that with over 500 daughters in production and milk # as high as is, it shouldn't be a big problem. Thats why the question for you breeders. So thanks for the input you guys had for us. Thanks Again

Oh yeah we got him bought at auction today

29F's dam, goes back to a bull called Race. I am not a Race fan, big old 10 frame bull, no meat or muscle. His daughters didn't milk and I have heard that 29F's dam had a bad udder. I have seen daughters in production at Star Lake and Larsons that looked like great milkers, but also saw some that looked like they would develop udder problems in the near future. Larson's Polled Herefords in Texas has a full sib that is in production to 29F that is darn good.

THG

Our bull is a 29F grandson, and most all of our cows have 29F back a generation, so our raised heifers should show some signs if 29F had a bad effect on udders. I can't say anything particularly good or bad about the udders from that bloodline. We have good uddered cows, and one of our best scoring udders is a Thunder daughter. Seems like we see better udders and higher WW out of our 29F/Wrangler 832W crossings than the rest.

I've always heard that his and his son's daughters milked really well. As far as udder structure though I don't. Lets see a picture of this guy.

Not always, I can grow one up the way I want it. so many are fed /pushed way to hard. Also usally not near the $$ for them either, we usally only have around 60-70 momma's and AI pretty heavy, so we get along with a young bull for clean-up and breeding a select few, and then will sell him after collecting.

Thanks, I had a look. Do you always buy bulls so young?
