It's not Blue Bell....but I must confess....I tried Blue Bunny a couple weeks ago (Apple pie and months without ice cream) and it was pretty good. If I have a choice, I still want the Blue Bell.

I don't care what might possibly be in it... listeria, ecoli, ebola--I want my dam home made vanilla back and I want it tomorrow, and I don't want any of the impostors and amateurs that are trying to get some of the market share.

Prairie Farms would be my choice. Best place to get it is at the Illinois State Fair in the Dairy Building (Home of the famous "butter cow" sculpture )

Several years ago my family was on vacation out west somewhere and my son bought a half gallon of Blue Bell, because it was not available locally at the time, packed it in dry ice, gave it to the professor of one of his classes that he was not doing well in and it got him a passing grade. GB, the home made vanilla and strawberry is my favorite. Hope they get it back in the freezers soon even though I don't need to eat it.

Nor I, but it is among my unalienable rights, protected by the Constitution, and I am not happy with that Right to Blue Bell being infringed upon, or even eroded temporarily.
I am tho, a bit disappointed, that several years ago, Blue Bell rejected my suggestion that they make a Chicken Fried Steak flavored home made vanilla...

I can't have any right now due to gallbladder surgery but sure would love some in a month when I can go back to dairy.

It is so strange, but before I had my gallbladder surgery one of the few things that I could eat was vanilla ice cream. Doctors never could understand how I could do it. Lived off of ice cream, Jello, and rice for months before I had surgery. I even lost weight. Mayfield is good ice cream to me. I like their cherry vanilla. Do not buy it now because cholesterol was high when tested last Oct.
