Had a couple of those "blonde" moments yesterday.
We went down to the barn to give the last 4 pairs their shots and brand the calves. I was standing at the gate to the pen where we had the calves trapped to brand them. Now my husband had hung the electric branding from a nail to my left. As I'm standing there I notice it is getting hotter and hotter on my left side. I finally looked up and the iron is red hot.  Ditz attack.

Second moment.
Had to cut off a cow that had one eye removed due to cancer on the eye. For some reason I get on her blind side and whacked her in the butt to get her moving, she reminded me to not be on that side with a sharp kick to my right shin. Response not printable. :secret:

man those was 2 bad blonde moments.i bet you backed away from the branding iron when you smelled the hair on your arm singing from the heat.

Why is it that they always get you in the chin? I got a double kick last year and it hurt so bad I didn't feel anything for at least 4 minutes then it really began to hurt. Kinda like sensory overload or something.

One of the horses was trying to get a horse fly off of its hind ankle but it had a good hold. The horse was eating so I reached down and slapped the thing. I think I was standing one inch out of the cow kick zone by luck.

Having your ranch brand on you would be way cooler then a tattoo. :cowboy:

Any critter that zero's in on me with her hind leg, will get a trip to town. I ALWAYS get the last laugh and win in the end.

mnmt if I ever want a tattoo it most definately will not be my brand. Did you ever hear about those colleage kids who were using wire hangers and heating them up to put their brands on themselves? OUCH!

OUCH Cal!
