One of the first coyotes I saw was black . We were rabbit hunting on our farm and the dogs struck and headed in a big briar patch . I ran to the lower end to wait on the rabbit . Out pops a black coyote. I’m shooting 6 shot so I give him a taste of my shotgun. He puts it in high gear and leaves the farm. We pick up the dogs and go to another spot . A couple of days later a neighbor tells me he was hunting and his dogs caught a black coyote. He said it must of been sick or hurt for them to catch it . I told him he was probably suffering from lead poisoning.
