I realize that many don't weigh baby calves but I was wondering what was the biggest baby calf (within 24 hours after birth) that anyone has heard of with any credibility?

I had a 149 lb. calf from a hereford cow and brangus bull 3 years ago. It was assisted but lived and the cow did fine.

Biggest unassisted calf I have had was out of a Santa Gertrudis cow and a Charolais bull. He weighed 130 lbs. Also weaned 760 in 205 days adj.

We had a calf by c-section in one our Holsteins that was 153 pds at birth. He and the mother were both fine.

lets see i had a holstein bull running with the dairy.put him with cows at 16months old. started pulling 125lb bull calvesoutta of the cows.lost 5 cows fast. an i mean mature cows.so then if i knew a cow was calving id never go to bed.b/c i knew id be pulling calves. dang bull was a cow killer.sold his tail when he was 3.sucker ended up killing 20cows.did a c-section on a heifer. lifted a 125lb or better heifer calf outta her. scott
