As you can see he is the real hunter in the family not me! I do enjoy it though when I have the time. He brought over some meat today so we will be having a roast tonight.


I got lucky during gun season this year and shot this guy form one of my sons stands.

Yeh! If it wern,t for all the good deer I have been eating the last while, I would have to give him a piece of my mind!! ;-)

Soooo.. How many bucks are y'all allowed to kill in a season up there??? Dept of Fish & Wildlife allowed hunters in my 'zone' one buck and as many does as we could take... Needless to say, we're eat up with deer around here.

Season apparently didn't help, though.. Saw 17 does near the road on the way home from my mom's on Christmas eve, and saw eight from the kitchen window yesterday at about 3pm -- broad daylight.. Six big does running WOT, followed by a smallish spike/fork (couldn't tell at the distance) and a really nice big 6pt or better with good beam length and nice spread bringing up the rear.. Antlers were white as snow on both, for some reason..

I figured the two fellas were either trying to get some late season action, or something ran them off their beds.. Either way, I hope I can find that big guy next year.
