I am helping a friend cut 150 acres of big bluestem this year. Having never harvested this forage for hay before I was hoping someone could tell me when is the best time to cut this for the highest nutritional value?

Stop by the NRCS office and you can pick up tons of literature on WSG. You will probably get a couple of slightly different answers if you ask the folks in the office. That just gives you more data to inable you to make the best decisions.
