Best time to overseed pasture?

We planted our pasture (about 4 acres) a year ago last May. Since I sprayed the weeds this summer, it is sparse in many areas. When is the best time to overseed?

Lots of folks do it different - I do it after the ground is frozen and before the snow if possible - or after the snow leaves and the ground is still being worked by the frost.

Depends on what you're overseeding with. Different types of grasses have optimum times for seeding.
