Trying to get the most bank for my buck. If same size rolls and price is same is bermuda normally a better source of hay then fescue mix? I know a lot of varibles are at play here. I also know that only a test would tell me the correct answer, but I am speaking in general terms. Does the bermuda, if fertilized properly, usually or genearly provide more bang for buck?

Had to edit that one. I had made a mess!

Testing forage is best, but if theoretically they are harvested at optimum times the fescue has the advantage of higher protien with a range of 10-15%p and bermuda at 9-11%p for common or 10-14%p for costal the fescue also has higher rfv and tdn potential.

Here in my part of the woods, if the bermuda is cut before it get tough bermuda will test much higher than fescue.
Horse people buy up all bermuda. Cows get the trash.
