Jeanne, every fifth post still stapled. Take one wire at a time, cut out 45 years worth of rat's nest splices and splice properly, stretch and staple to new posts.
We scattered 112 posts and rattled them in in 2 1/2 hours.

I rebuilt the old railroad right of way fence several years ago. I can't even remember how many days and days it took to undo that mess.
