Their trip to the Azores was meant to be the first fully “green” journey on Theros, which the couple dubbed the Green Odyssey after they removed its diesel engine.

That diesel engine would have come in handy.

They were found dead in their little lifeboat, washed up on an island. That would be a bad way to die, of thirst or starvation out in the open ocean.

There’s a fine line between niave and stupid. What a miserable last few days that must have been, baking in the sun during the day and shivering all night.
 
It makes me wonder if they were forced to abandon. My uncle has a 30' sailboat that now sits in his barn at the ranch. He sailed from Florida to the Bahamas when he was younger. He also had a mini 14 just in case of pirates.

I read another article that mentioned the Coast Guard was investigating the possibility that they hit a freight carrier. I don’t think they know for certain since they haven’t found the boat, but there must be some reason they were looking into it.
