Upgrading our barn and putting a working area under roof. Was looking thru CL and ran across these. Don't know anything about them but at 400 watts and they ought to be plenty bright. Any idea if I'll need a special hanger for them?

That's cheap . Buy them. I don't know how much light you need but those will do it. Do you know if they are metal halide or sodium? Bulbs cost more than they are asking for them

Waiting on a call back from the owner. Had a neighbor kid answering the phone that didn't have a clue but took a message. Got to thinking and wondering if these are the kind that takes a while to come on and fully brighten?

Yes , they have to warm up some 2 or 3 min to full brute, but put out alot of light. Sodium are what most yard lights are iirc. The metal halide have a yellowish light. I installed 4 of them under a 80x100 barn several years ago and when they were on it was lit up like a prison. The only draw back is when you turn them on they don't need to be turned off until your thru. It takes about 15min for them to cool down and come back on.
