If anyone was wondering how long it takes an elite horse trailer and a 7040 Kubota tractor to burn completely up, I can tell you. It take right at 30 minutes and there won't be nothing left but the frames. We lost the barn, trailer, tractor, Polaris ranger, an old four wheeler, utility trailer, 150 square bales, and 10 saddles and some misc eq. It can happen faster than you can imagine. Good thing is no one got hurt and the horses were not in the barn that night. Also everything was insured.

Glad to hear no one was hurt, but that gives me a sick feeling to my stomach
Your taking better than I would

Losing your stuff, does a number on your head. Just remind yourself that nobody, and secondly no animals were hurt or killed. I lost every single thing I owned once. Tending a grave would be worse.

Oh my gosh! So very sorry to hear this. Hope your insurance company acts quickly and efficiently to help you with replacements of your losses. Thankfully no livestock and no one was killed.

Been there. Without insurance. I did get just over $12K from my homeowner policy for "outbuildings" but I lost 3 barns. 1990.

Some things cannot be replaced with monetary gestures. I hope you didn't have much heirloom things out there.

Doggone it!

List out every nickel and dime item. Puddles of aluminum etc. You can write it off taxes.

Fences can be replaced and depreciated. Don't go that route. "repair" the ones that were burned and don't use wood.

Sorry to hear of your losses.
At least all your loved ones are safe and you are insured.
Gotta look at the little things.
Take care and hope things go well with your rebuild, and quick.
Sometimes insurance likes to take their sweet time.

So sorry for all that you lost, CW. Glad to hear all was insured, though I know you probably lost some things that money can't replace.
Am VERY happy for you that no people or animals were injured.

I am so sorry that you had to go through this and happy that your horses are OK and no one was hurt.

A friend of our daughter had a barn fire. It started in the horse trailer living quarters. I forget but the refrigerator or something had been recalled and the trailer dealer did not tell them. It overheated and started the fire. Sadly they lost their horses because they kept the trailer in their barn too.

Do you know what started the fire?

Thanks everybody for the kind words. We lost a few things that can't be replaced like my wife's high school rodeo jackets and all her saddles she won.
