So how do you fix saggy barbed wire? I know of a few different ways of doing it, Ive watched several YouTube videos, but im curious, how do you do it? what have yall found to be the easiest and best way (get it the tightest) to get it done.

I use the Jake tighteners listed about. I have bought them from several different places including Eba-y and some I got will bend a few days after I have put them in. They work well if you can get the ones with the right tempered steel.

I have one of these (Gripple) I use also that works good especially using wire for braces.

I 2nd the Texas Fence strainer, I have a few older fences that really need replacing but this will get them nice and taut without putting too much pressure on the old wood strainer posts and give me a fence that will be good for a few more years. I don't use it on my newer fences where a branch may have come down and stretched the wire, I unclip the wire from the steel posts and go back to the end assembly if not too far away and retention it properly.

if its not that loose I just take a pair or fence pliers and put a little twist in the wire in between the barbs. it'll tighten it up very nicely and if something hits it it just stretches out your twists instead of breaking.

Cut the wire, pull with a come along, and re clamp or twist it. Never been a fan of the one above because they don't have much travel. A single stand come along can open up at least 6'. Plus they are super handy for other stuff too.

I am not a fan of barb wire but have some that is a line fence with one neighbor. I usually use a golden rod and gripple that way I can use a gripple tool to tighten if I need to after. High tensile barb can break after you twist it if it gets a kink and the wire is stretched again.

I don't know about that, I think it will break at the twist rather than straighten out.

If you don't make a complete twist, that MIGHT work, but if you twist it enough to make a full loop I can guarantee it will break when it's under any strain, and maybe if it isn't.

My wife called me at work last Monday wanting to know where the fence stretcher was. She was trying to fix fence where our 14" snow took a tree down. What a peach. I told here I'd take care of it when I got home. When I got there, she already had it fixed. She explained how she used a ratchet strap. It wasn't pretty, but fully functional.
She bought a new fence stretcher at Atwoods this weekend. We found the old one about an hour after she got home. Now she has her own and she put it in her truck so I can't lose it.

I love those fasteners but I can't justify Jake's Tighteners price wise, at $2. a clip...seems like i should be getting one T-Post for that price.
292505/16 in diameter (15 ct)$29.95
I usually do a light twist in the actual barbwire....hate doing that....and if I do find I've made a complete twist around I'll add an 18" bracing barb wire twisted tight around the main barb-wire as a fallback cause I know it'll probably break in a year or two. My preferred method of tightening barb-wire...is to add a T-Post in...or revise the clips, add new clips, at a few T-Posts nearby to pull the barb-wire angular around the posts as i put two to three wrap around on each end of the Clip. Clips on T-posts are my best method of tightening barb-wire.

nah.. no full loop.. just a little "Z" twist. pretty similar to the bends in woven wire...
