I have a calf about 6 weeks old that we banded 2 weeks ago. The testicles are hard and shriveled up but today I noticed that there seems to be a sort of open wound around the banding site. It looks to me like rotting flesh/dry blood. Is this normal or should I be concerned? He has all of his vaccinations and is energetic and eats well. Thanks

Might spray it with fly spray (some sort of permethrin) or Wound Kote/Blue Kote and keep an eye on him but wouldn't worry.
