I got a couple of Holstein calves that were banded a week before I got them (don't know if they had a tetanus shot). I have had them for a couple weeks. One has a lump around the navel area in front of the shaft (appears to be going down). The other's band looks infected and oozing. It is red and swollen around the area of the band and the band looks really infected. Should I be concerned (or take prevention measures). I put some spray on it to keep the flies away but that is it so far. He is walking a little sorely but seems to be feeding and grazing OK (although licking the wound quite a bit)
Thanks in advance for advice
