In this area there are way to many dear and elk to set up for bale grazing, or swath grazing.

So would a llama, or donkey guard the bales?? or any other suggestions. I know the guard animal will eat some but a lot less than an herd of elk.

My guard donkeys will stand and eat along side deer all day long.

so donkeys are not the correct guard for my application then.

My guard donkeys used to be real effective against canines but the neighbors Labrador has successfully "desensitized" them.

Best deal is to bring in a bunch of hunters and rid yourself of them. They just carry disease into your herd anyways.

1wlimo, I've always wanted to kill an elk. And I will do it free of charge :tiphat:

They are not around here in season, come over the river when it freezes, nice to see one or two, just not whole herds.
