I saw a neighbor coming out of sam's with a lot of baking soda ,I ask him the why and he said he put it in his automatic waters to keep them free from the green gunk. Is their other uses for it ? Will it be O k to leave in the cows water all the time ? Thank's

We put out bicarb in the cattle mineral feeders (1 of the 3 sections) when cattle first go out on pasture to help prevent BUN. Grass is way too high in protein. Causes breeding problems. You can tell when they are being affected, couple days after being in a field, you will find yellow circles where a cow has peed. Burns the grass. It is not making them sick, just makes the uterus too high/low?? PH. They cycle good, but the sperm can't survive.

Thanks I'm going to give it a try. Where do you get it in the 50Lb bag ?
Howard Lake Minnesota would be one random place with a dairy nutritionist.
Since you haven't posted your location.... maybe that's right next door to you or it might be quite a drive :)

Your best price would be from a feed dealer with a dairy nutritionist who balances rations. Arm&Hammer is one brand that comes in 50 lb bags
